Eerste aflevering van het kunst en cultuurprogramma Picabia, dat ik in 2006 ontwikkeld heb voor de VPRO. In deze uitzending een mooi portret van kunstenares Amie Dicke die bekend werd met haar uitsneden van grote glamourfoto’s en nu zelf onder het mes gaat voor het beroemde tijdschrift V. Verder o.a. een interview met de mode-grootheid Vivienne Westwood, naar aanleiding van een grote overzichtstentoonstelling van haar werk in Dusseldorf. Ik ben nog altijd erg trots op deze eerste uitzending. Als je de korte voorbereidingstijd in aanmerking neemt, is het echt ongelofelijk wat het Picabia-team wist te realiseren.

First episode of Picabia, a TV series I developed for VPRO in 2006. In this episode we presented a great portrait of artist Amie Dicke, who is known for her dramatic “cut-outs”, using glamor photos from international fashion magazines. In this short documentary Amie will to cut herself to pieces. Also an interview with the grand lady of Punk fashion, Vivienne Westwood at the opening of a retrospective exhibition of her work in Dusseldorf, Germany. I am still very proud of this episode. Considering the short production time, it’s almost unbelievable what the Picabia team managed to realise.
